The Tourism Consumer Insights team has for a number of years been undertaking large scale Online visitor surveys on behalf of the National Trust for Scotland. In recent years, they have also worked with Historic Environment Scotland, sampling visitors of nearly 30 different sites gain an understanding of visitor profile, experiences and perceptions at each of the participating sites.
The methodology during the period has been identical (self-completion questionnaires) and as such recent reports have looked at trends based on nearly 30,000 visitor responses to these attractions.
A range of analysis and reporting techniques have been required in order to disseminate findings from this research to the National Trust for Scotland and Historic Environment Scotland. These have included detailed written reports, summary reports to visual key findings as well as in-depth presentations and knowledge transfer sessions among a range audiences from Group Managers to the Senior Management Team.
